Our silk dupioni fabric is hand-woven using pure dupioni yarns from double nested cocoons. Silk dupioni is a shimmering silk that is created by weaving silk threads of two colors into a weave that seems to change colors as the silk moves around different lights. Constructed with threads made from rough silk fibers which are interlocked employs a set of vibrant colors in the weave. Threads of natural silk vary in thickness producing a beautiful texture. Hand loomed silk dupioni has weaving irregularities like slubs, barres and loops which are inherent to the fabric and enhance its exotic beauty.

This silk is hand loomed at a rate of 4 yards per day and expertly dyed with virtually natural dyes. Silk has an advantage over some other types of silks, in that dupioni tends to resist wrinkles which help enhance the usability of the finished fabric. In addition silk dupioni also has a tendency to take creases very well, which can give the final product a crisp and formal appearance.
